Do you need replacement lenses, but are having a hard time figuring out which frame model you have? Identifying your sunglasses is the most important step to ensure your new lenses fit perfectly. We'll show you where to look on your frame to make sure you get the right lenses for your sunglasses.
How to Identify Your Sunglasses
Brand Name
Start by looking for a logo or name printed on the frames to identify which brand of sunglasses you have. This brand name may be on the outer or inner arm of the frame.
Frame Name
Find the frame name by looking for a logo or name printed on the inside temple of the frames.
Pay special attention to qualifiers like an "S" or an "XL" that indicate frame or lens size. These special frame sizes usually have their own, unique lenses, which aren’t interchangeable with other size variations of the same frame.
Some frames had multiple editions made over the years. If you search your frame name and see a year listed after it, like Straight Jacket (2007), click the "Check Compatibility" button on the product page. You can use the images in the fit guide to identify which generation your frames are.
Frame Number
If you don't see a frame name on your sunglasses, there may be a SKU number to identify your frames. A SKU usually looks something like this:
- Oakley frame SKU example: OO9102
- Ray-Ban frame SKU example: RB2132
- Maui Jim frame SKU example: MJ103
You can search these SKU numbers on our site to find the right lenses for your frame.
Lens Size
Some Ray-Ban frames have multiple sizes. The size is usually a number found after the SKU before the square ▢ symbol indicating the millimeter width of the lens.
Example: Ray-Ban New Wayfarer RB2132 52mm sunglasses
Lens Width
One of the best things about Revant is breathing new life into older frames. Unfortunately that sometimes means identifying numbers such as lens width have worn off. While the printed number is the most accurate way to know the mm size, you can also get the lens size by measuring the widest horizontal measurement in millimeters of the lens. To ensure an accurate measurement, remove the lenses and measure across, straight across, not angled. If you measure the lens when they are inside the frame, you will get an incorrect measurement.
